All current or past members of the United States Armed Forces are invited to Bradie Shrum Elementary for its annual Veterans Day Program. American Heroes will be presented on Friday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the school's multipurpose room. The program will feature all 5th grade classes. It will include patriotic music, quotes, student speakers, and recognition of veterans. It should last approximately 45-50 minutes.
" We want to pack the gym with as many veterans as we can! " said music teacher Andrea Gorman, adding that the program is open to everyone in the community.
Students are asked to wear red, white, and blue to school that day to show their patriotic spirit.
PICTURES of VETERANS needed:
Gorman said she would love to have pictures of veterans related to BSE students in grades third through fifth, as well as those related to BSE staff members, too.
"These photos will be on a slideshow that will play prior to the program beginning," she said.
If you have a picture to submit, please email me your digital copy to Gorman at agorman@salemschools.us. With the picture, please include the branch of service and how he/she is related to your child. For example: Lee Smith, Army, grandpa of Mrs. Gorman.
If you submitted a photo last year (November 2022), you do not need to resubmit your photo. If you aren't sure if your photo was submitted, feel free to email and ask.
